About the leathers:
Horween Dublin Leather:
Dublin is a Veg-Tan leather using horween’s Cordovan vegetable tanning liquor formulas which are over 100 years old. Within the tanning process, the leather incorporates a richer blend of oils and waxes than traditional vegetable tanned leather, which results in a leather that will age beautifully. The Dublin leather is infused with a rich blend of natural waxes and then ironed to create a smooth surface with a rich tonal appearance that showcases the natural grain. This leather has a medium/firm temper to begin with that has an already broken in feel to it and will soften up even more with use. It will begin to mold to your belongings and show great character and patina that is unique to you.
Horween Genuine Shell Cordovan Leather:
Genuine Shell Cordovan is the art of tanning at its finest. More than just a color, it is a very specific leather, from a particular part of a horsehide. The irregular oval shaped shells are tanned, stuffed, shaved, and then polished – a process taking at least six months. Each shell is slowly steeped in gentle vegetable liquors. The shells are genuine hot stuffed then slicked onto glass frames to dry. Each shell is hand curried and shaved by highly skilled artisans to expose the shell. Dyes are hand rubbed on for a deep aniline finish. Finally, the shells are hand glazed to achieve the rich, glossy look and feel prized by fine craftsmen.
Craftsman Oak Veg-Tan Leather:
What makes this unfinished leather so special is the patina it develops with use. Aging to a caramel color, the Craftsman Oak Veg-Tan will quickly burnish to a rich patina. This leather has a firm temper to begin with but will quickly break-in and soften up the more you use it. It will begin to mold to your belongings and show great character and patina that is unique to you.
